Asset Management Workshop to be Held in Chicago, IL
The Alliance for Water Efficiency, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, and the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association, are hosting an asset management workshop on September 17, 2010. The workshop will take place at 300 W. Adams Street in Chicago, Illinois. The cost is $35 per person, and includes morning coffee, lunch, and workshop materials. Learn more here.

Award winning author Jamie Workman (Heart of Dryness: How the Last Bushmen Can Help Us Endure the Coming Age of Permanent Drought) is the feature speaker at AWE's upcoming annual member meeting set to be held on October 5, 2010 in Las Vegas at the South Point Hotel and Conference Center. Mr. Workman won 1ST PLACE in the Society of Environmental Journalist's 2010 Rachel Carson Award for Best Book for Reporting on the Environment. Georgia Passes Landmark Water Efficiency Legislation and Revises Water Conservation Plan
On March 18, 2010 the State of Georgia enacted the Water Stewardship Bill, a comprehensive law which, in part, requires higher efficiency standards for toilets, faucets, urinals and cooling towers by July, 2012. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has also released an updated version of the State’s Water Conservation Implementation Plan, which incorporates improvements suggested by Georgia citizens, businesses and organizations. The March 2010 Plan Revision will support the 2010 Water Stewardship Act. Learn more here.
